A great day on Sunday with the success of the top-rated Nicki Boy and the defeat of The Entomologist who we place layed. That gave followers a 6.25 point profit on the day, recovering the loss on Saturday.
However, that only tells half the story as the above scenario looked far from likely in the final stages. The Entomologist was second coming to the final flight and looked long odds on to be placed (top four in that race) while Nicki Boy was headed on the run-in but fought back bravely to win by a short head !! Nicki Boy was the gamble of the race having been 5.7 on Betdaq earlier in the morning.
Today's HorseGraph is the 2.40 at Market Rasen - it's becoming a habit now these big runner handicap hurdles !!
First thing to say about this race is it looks very, very dificult to solve and no surprises at all to see the favourite trading at 7.2 on Betdaq. I also have a hunch that this race could well go to a big priced winner.
The graph points to Makandy at around 12.5 at the moment. In the context of this race he is steady and reliable if not spectacular and the form of his recent course and distance third to Nike Walker may be good enough to see him record a first win.
Honourable mentions go to 6 and 11 - Nortonthorpe Lad and Bill Brown. Nortonthorpe Lad has been weak in morning Betdaq trades but may not have been set a tough task on his handicap debut whereas Bill Brown looks a little overpriced at 50 which is based more on current form than overall ability.
8,16,18 and 20 are all small bets - hopefully one of them might just be the big price winner that I feel may pop-up !
