A small profit yesterday thanks to Super Frank who continued to defy the handicapper at Lingfield.

Today's HorseGraph is at Southwell where, for the all-weather, the fields are quite small. Only six runners go to post for the handicap at 4.00 and it's now been reduced to five with the news that Zelos has been withdrawn.

The latest trading on Betdaq completely backs up the HorseGraphs in suggesting that the race rests between Hall Of Fame and Milla's Rocket and the strategy today is to aim for around one and a half points profit whichever one wins.

Mark Johnston, trainer of top weight Hall Of Fame, continues in cracking form with five winners from his last 16 runners and Hall Of Fame (who runs in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed) gets stepped up distance for his all-weather debut.

Milla's Rocket also heralds from a stable in form and is more certain to see out the trip based on evidence so far.

Wednesday 7 February

The weather again plays havoc with the racing schedule but Lingfield survives and we need a winner !!!

Today's HorseGraph is in the seven furlong handicap at 3.30 and the race would appear to revolve around the favourite Super Frank, Josh and Mandarin Spirit who is trading at decent odds. Interestingly, Mandarin Spirit has come in for some support on Betdaq this morning being matched at a high of 33 down to 19 as I write. He is on an improving trend at the moment and is certainly a spot of value.

Josh was two and a quarter lengths behind Super Frank over course and distance last time and has every chance of reversing that form on seven pounds better terms. His trainer Kevin Ryan is in great form and started this afternoon's meeting with a winner in the first.

Tuesday 6 February

Market Rasen and Sedgefield are both off so Southwell get the stage to themselves this afternoon. For the HorseGraph we look at the fillies handicap at 3.40.

The race features a 'money horse' on Betdaq - the Stuart Williams trained Pikaboo has been well backed all morning and comes from a stable where that support should be noted - however, we can't really get too enthusiastic on the basis of the figures.

Instead, a couple that stand out at decent prices. Our top-rated horse is Muara who is trading at around 7 at the time of writing. The David Barker trained mare clashes again with Cerebus who she beat by a length and a quarter at Wolverhampton last time out and is expected to confirm that form again today.

Glamaraazi is also an interesting runner here at around the 13 level. She was a course and distance winner here last month beating Mind Alert - the form of that reads well - however, she disappointed last time when 5-4 favourite and tried over a furlong longer trip. She is worth a chance to recoup losses back at this trip.

Sweet Pickle at 3.8 favourite will prop up the other bets.

Monday 5 February

A single point profit on Sunday thanks to the success of Gentleman's Deal who looks a horse with some great potential after disposing of a decent looking listed field with ease at Kempton.

15 all-weather races to get stuck into on Monday and the meeting at Hexham goes ahead after a morning inspection - for the HorseGraph we are hoping to save the best until last - and are going to Wolverhampton for the final race at 5.20.

The graphs make out an excellent case for Spark Up who races off a feather weight here with Duran Fentiman taking off 5lb. She is running consistently well and at the current 7.2 on Betdaq looks a tempting proposition.

We'll back her up in the staking plan with the three other "above the line" horses - Sands Crooner, Stoic Leader and Sir Douglas - so basically we are looking for a winner beginning with "S" !!!!!

Sunday 4 February

We got the first four home right yesterday but for betting purposes it was the worst way round :(

Off to Kempton for today's HorseGraph which is in th 3.20 - a listed event over one mile on the all-weather.

I was hoping for something a little better about Gentleman's Deal but we'll have to settle for the 2.4 currently showing on Betdaq. He has won his last two races with great ease but this is much harder.

We'll also play for small stakes on Tony James and Party Boss that have good ratings.

Saturday 3 February

The wretched zig-zag continued yesterday, which should at least hopefully guarantee a good day today !

The HorseGraph is in the 1.45 at Lingfield where we have a situation of four horses being rated well clear - the four include the current first three in the betting on Betdaq so the staking plan is key today. Voice Mail and Ask No More are the ones that will give us a decent profit on the day - with the other two propping up the bet as an insurance saver.

Andrew Balding, trainer of Voice Mail, is in great form with three winners from his last eight runners and ran a good race earlier in the week under today's seven pound claimer David Probert when third to Apache Point. The quick reappearance is interesting.

Ask No More takes a big drop in class and although only ninth at Lingfield last time wasn't beaten far in a handicap and this is much easier.

Friday 2 February

I was tempted to put up the "Gone Fishing - back Saturday" sign after notching up a small profit yesterday. As you know I am zig-zagging between good days and bad days so tread carefully this afternoon !! In the end it was a bonus to make a profit yesterday - as Pawn In Life was only there as a saver bet - but was trading around 4.4 at the off on Betdaq to give me a profit of around 1 1/2 points on the day.

We're heading to Wolverhampton today for the HorseGraph in the 4.25 race - a sprint handicap where 13 runners go to post.

Mind Alert is a solid favourite but is proving a little hard to win with of late and has been beaten at 2/1 and 7/4 on his last starts. He is joint rated on the HorseGraph with Must Be Keen who was a short head winner at Kempton last month before running poorly over the minimum trip here last time. Back to six furlongs - or at least four yards short of six furlongs - he might be worth another chance and at around the 10 mark is good value.

We'll definitely have to add Kims Rose into the mix - she is third rated on the graph despite trading at around a massive 50 on Betdaq. She can only be an extremely speculative bet though as she has a lengthy absence to overcome and is also making her all-weather debut.

Thursday 1 February

I seem to be zig-zagging between good days and bad days at the moment so on that basis today should be good and we should all go fishing tomorrow. Very disappointing race yesterday when we never really got a run from any of the selections.

It looks a straight forward day today - the featured HorseGraph is the 3.20 at Southwell and there are three clear bets - two of which are currently trading at good odds on Betdaq.

Clear favourite in the race is Pawn In Life but as the computer only has this one third-rated we'll just use it as an insurance bet. The two good bets are the top-rated Pontefract Glory (currently around 8) who may find this race a bit easier and Marron Flore who, despite being quoted at 8-1 in the Racing Post betting forecast, is available at around 16 on Betdaq, and is another who should appreciate the easier task than of late here.

Don't forget if we do have a good day - to get the fishing tackle packed tonight !
