Great to see Newbury get the go-ahead after a morning inspection but my punting policy is to generally avoid cards where inspections were needed as extremities of going (or other factors) often produce the most un-predictable results. The ground is Newbury is heavy and non-runners are heading into double figures so it's card I'll watch - rather than play in.
With such a plethora of racing every day - discipline is important and if you can reduce the uncertain variables (heavy ground of which is one) it often pays in the long run no matter how tempting it seems in the short term.
With this in mind - for the first ever HorseGraph we'll head a few miles east of Newbury down to Lingfield where the finale at 4.05 is our featured race of the day.
The three 'above the line' horses are Rapid City, Trifti and Sky Quest and checking the midday Betdaq prices I'm surprised to see Rapid City trading as short as 1.54. ATR have just reported a big drift today on Kyles Prince which I would have considered as a lay but the value in that has gone.
Trifti and Sky Quest are massive prices - so we'll play on both of these and add a saver on Rapid City to hopefully ensure we finish the first day ahead of the game.
Recommended Bets
3 point win Rapid City
1/2 point win Trifti
1/2 point win Sky Quest
Result Update
Well we started with a profit of just under one point - hardly spectacular but happy to settle for that. Rapid City left it late but won pretty cosily - with reasonable runs from our two other bets in the race Sky Quest (3rd) and Trifti (4th).
